Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in partnership with Shaaba Processing and Bottling Company limited are to build ultra-modern water bottling plants.
The facilities would serve as learning and practical sites for students whose programmes have relationships with the activities at the premises.
Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso, Vice Chancellor of KNUST, said plans are far advanced to set up and run water bottling plants on campus in collaboration with Kasapreko Company Limited and Shaaba Processing and Bottling Company limited.
According to him this would serve as a place for intenships and hands-on training for students.
This project, when established would be just one of the numerous projects that have already been initiated by the VC to make KNUST a lead education in Science and Technology to facilitate technological development in Ghana.
Prof. Obiri-Danso indicated when addressing members of Convocation at his maiden state of the University Address that this is part of future plans within the broad framework of the University’s strategic plan (PLAN 2025).
