The National Union of Ghana Students led by its President, Leader Richmond Asare TINKARO and some other executives today paid a visit to the Chief Executive Officer of the Students Loan Trust Fund to engage on the challenges beneficiaries, students are faced with.

The Union addressed on the delay of the payment and the lack of communication from the Fund to the students of Ghana who applied for the funds.  The union led by the Leader stated that in moving forward the trust must ensure that there is proper communication and proactiveness on their side since their actions have over these few months had much effect; psychologically and emotionally, especially getting closer to examination period.

The union was pleased when we were made aware that 3000 beneficiaries have been paid as at 13:00GMT today, 29th November, 2018 and is still paying those they have received their full list. The major problem they are face with according to their CEO, Nana Kwaku Aggie Yeboah is the delay of the full list of students from the over 119 tertiary institutions nationwide. They have the full list of 46 institutions and still waiting for the rest to pay the beneficiaries. They hope to have the complete details from the various administrators of universities whose students have applied in other to ensure it’s completion.

The Union assured the SLTF that we will work together with our various SRCs to ensure that we coordinate activities between the Trust and beneficiaries.

The union want to use this opportunity to encourage students across the country to continue to update us on their challenges so we can further put measures in place in addressing them.

Thank you !
