After months of staying away from academic work, students of the University of Ghana are expected to return on campus for the first semester of the 2019/2020 academic year.
Management of the University have given continuing students from today Wednesday to Sunday, August 18, 2019, to report on campus.
Before reporting, continuing students are to have paid at least 60% of the academic fees and as well as done their academic registration.
For students who have residence on campus, they are expected to have paid a minimum of 50% of their residential fees and undertaken their online residential registration.
The manual residential registration is to be done at the tutorial office of the students’ hall.
University management has scheduled Friday, September 13, 2019 as the deadline for all registrations.
Teaching for continuing students is expected to start on Monday, August 19.
Head of Security at the University of Ghana, Mr. George Amofa, has assured students of safety on campus.
He says that the security will do their best to combat crime on campus this semester.
That notwithstanding, he has advised them to be security conscious as they return.
“The students will be as safe as always. The allegation that campus was not safe was not true comparatively. The students should know that security starts with them. We will give them tips on how to be safe, the students have to be conscious of their own security so that they can complete their course in peace and achieve their aim,” he said.
