Students of the University of Ghana have begun reporting on the campus of the university for the commencement of academic activity in the second semester of the 2019/2020 academic year.
Although just a handful of students have reported as of Thursday, January 30, many more are expected to report before Monday, February 3 when lectures commence.
This semester is not only going to be busy academically but politically as students go to the polls to elect a new crop of leaders for the Students Representative Council.
The semester will also see students who are excelling academically receive prizes.
Lectures have been scheduled to end on Friday, May 1 and examinations starting on Saturday, May 9.
Halls of residence ready to receive students
Ahead of the coming of students, some Junior Common Room presidents indicated that their respective halls of residents were in a proper state to receive students.
Among them are Derrick Sage and Divine Edem Kwadzodeh who are the respective JCR presidents for the Mensah Sarbah Hall and the Alexander Kwapong Hall.
For Divine Kwadzodeh, residents of the Kwapong Hall will, this semester, connect to the internet at ease as over twenty WiFi routers have been procured.
He says that the installation of the routers will be completed by next week.
